MindForge is an IRC network, providing facilities to open source and free software project communities. Our desire is to create a nice place for users to chat and to create a big community for sharing and exchanging ideas. This network is open to everyone: register your nickname, create a channel, make friends and enjoy! :)

To connect to MindForge, we highly recommend you use the main server rotation:

All our servers listen on ports 6667 and 6669 for regular connections and 6697 for SSL connections. Only IPv4 is supported at the moment.
The maximum number of connections per IP is 3. It's possible to ask for an increase for static IPs in special cases (BNCs, shells, etc.) in a help channel.

If you are interested in linking a server to MindForge take a look to the linking application.

Proxy scanner

All connections to the network are scanned to check for proxies and other type of insecure connections. If you don't consent to these types of scans please disconnect from the network right now.
Open proxies are automatically banned. If you think that a ban was set by mistake, please let us know by using the link provided in the ban reason.

SSL is a cryptographic protocol that can provide secure communications over the internet. You can connect our IRC network using an encrypted connection through port 6697. Most of IRC clients support SSL (e.g. mIRC, XChat, KVIrc), but sometimes it has to be installed.
OpenSSL versions for Windows users are available in here. Linux users need to check if it's installed and if so, check it's the last version. Sources can be found here.
